Marina del Rey is often referred to as the “cut and paste” neighborhood of L.A, which simply refers to its manmade feel. With manmade canals to house the marina and condo buildings overlooking the water, the area has a “choppy” appeal where each building is unique and doesn’t necessarily match the one next to it. The quirky flow of the neighborhood adds to its desirability as it’s a community unlike any other. Scattered throughout the streets you can find a handful of restaurants, bars, and shops, however, with easy access to many coastal highways and major freeways, you can easily travel to surrounding communities such as Culver City which boasts globally recognized restaurants, rooftop bars, and gastropubs. 

While the area of Marina del Rey may seem fully dedicated to the marina itself there is a great number of things to do. Enjoy a day at the sandy beaches of Venice beach, explore one of the parks in the area including the waterfront Burton Chase Park or head over to the Marina del Rey Historical Society Museum to learn about the area’s history.
